“round the Earth“
A book-album in which Manon Cousin composed 5 tracks recorded by Les Itinérantes.
The Earth turns. In the universe, among the stars,
it moves slowly.
Night lulls the world.
People are still sleeping in their homes.
The autumn wind carries clouds laden with cold water.
Children’s dreams gently fly away. The day advances, far away,
behind the small wood.
It’s night, then early morning breaks, the day gently rises. Time passes, seasons unfold, the Earth turns and the world rushes on… Through the pages and songs (5 of which are composed by Manon and sung by Les Itinérantes), refrains or sung poems, the reader enters a world of sensations through sound and image. Round is the Earth, round is the lullaby and the invitation to dive into the dreamlike world of dreams.
Anne Brouillard’s paintings lend intensity to everyday scenes; they evoke a happy nostalgia for childhood. Drawing her inspiration from the tranquil Swedish landscapes – from where Anne Brouillard originates and shares her childhood rhymes with us – she invites us to re-examine our relationship with time, nature, and childhood.
This book-album originated from her meeting with Bertille de Swarte and a complicity born around writing and music. Surrounded by top-tier musicians and singers, they are alternately lyricists and composers, taking us on a Round the Earth…
